You’ve officially taken the first step in making change! Coming to therapy can be a difficult decision to make. Often times we struggle with our problems on our own for a long time before we ask for help. Making change can be difficult, overwhelming and sometimes even scary. With this in mind, I strive to provide a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment that allows my clients to come and explore the possibility of creating meaningful change in their lives. Another piece that I work very hard to provide is helping to give my clients the courage and confidence needed to be able to sustain that change.
My style as a therapist is one of calmness, caring and concern. I am down to earth and genuine. Most of my clients seem to connect and feel comfortable with me right away. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is one of great importance and is much like any other relationship in our lives in that we either click and feel comfortable with someone or we don't. Because this is so important to the success of therapy, I encourage my clients to trust their feelings with this. Finding the right fit in therapy is crucial. You need to have understanding, trust, and commitment.
I truly believe in the idea that every person has what they need inside of them to overcome their challenges and to take control of their lives. It is this belief that leads my therapy with you. I work with you, as a unique being, to uncover and build upon your own strengths and skills to find solutions that work for you in your life. Each person that walks through my door brings with them their own unique experiences, beliefs, views and challenges. And with each person that I meet, I learn something new. And with each thing I learn, I have more to give to the next person who I cross paths with. I respect and appreciate what my clients bring to the table and utilize it all to help you create meaningful and lasting change.
